Do-it-yourself vibration table - various manufacturing options. Do-it-yourself vibrating table: manufacturing features and video instructions Do-it-yourself vibrating table drawings

In principle, all work related to the casting of elements from various building mixtures can be performed without the use of this apparatus. But its use is still highly desirable. Thanks to it, not only the decorativeness of the surfaces of these products improves, but also their quality and strength increases. Let's look at how this happens and how to assemble such a device yourself.

The principle of operation of the device and the list of necessary materials

The mixtures used to cast various items have too thick a consistency. That is why they are not capable, unlike more liquid solutions, of qualitatively filling various containers. When filling the molds, the mixture flows unevenly, which leads to the formation of air pockets.

The air gradually leaves these bubbles as they solidify, but the void in the body of the element remains. Thus, weak points arise in a seemingly solid product. If there is excessive load, or an accidental impact, or fall, such voids cause the entire element to break.

vibrating table drawing

If voids form at the very bottom of the mold (where the front side of the product is usually formed), then after solidification on the surface of the element you can find recesses, depressions and pits of various sizes, which significantly spoil the appearance of the cast mold.

The use of the device in question helps to avoid these troubles due to its vibration function. Light vibration causes the mass to slowly fall down under the pressure of its own weight. During this process, the air pockets are filled with the mixture, and the air itself is expelled out.

result of the work

The production of paving slabs is carried out using the vibration casting method. For this purpose, a special device is used - a vibrating table. There is nothing to replace it at home, so you have to make it yourself.

How to make your own vibrating table for making paving slabs? Let's consider this issue in more detail.

The process of concrete hardening, accompanied by small frequent vibrations, occurs with the release of air bubbles, compaction of the concrete structure and an increase in the density and strength of the material. To ensure this mode, a vibrating table is used. It is a surface that performs frequent oscillatory movements (about 3000/min).

Forms filled with concrete are installed on this surface and vibration treatment is performed. The mode significantly compacts the structure of concrete, which significantly affects the quality of paving slabs, the operating conditions of which require great strength.

There are different types of devices, from large industrial ones with a hydraulic vibration source for processing large concrete blocks, to smaller electric ones that create vibration using an eccentric mounted on the electric motor shaft. Since only the second option is available at home, we will not consider a hydraulic drive device.

Vibration frequency and amplitude— characteristics that determine the texture of the processed material. They are set up empirically; it is too difficult to calculate all the nuances in advance, since there are too many variables involved in the process.

Therefore, the design of the table should provide for the possibility of some adjustment of the vibration amplitude.

Find out how to install on our website. We will tell you about the successive stages of the work being carried out.

And you will find a lot of useful information about preparing a site for laying paving slabs.

Materials and tools that will be required

The specific operation of the device allows the use of only metal elements. All connections are welded or bolted. Accordingly, for the manufacture you will need sheet metal with a thickness of 3 mm(the larger the area, the thicker the sheet will be required).

For the bed you need a corner or channel. Table mobility is provided by springs, the size of which must correspond to the weight of the table plus the load from the installed poured forms.

To assemble a vibrating table for paving slabs with your own hands You will need a welding machine, electric drill with a set of metal drills. Metal parts are cut using a grinder. You will need a measuring tool and a set of wrenches for threaded connections.

Table legs require secure attachment to the floor, otherwise during work he will run around the entire room. It is best to cement the legs into the recesses, for which you need to weld sheet metal platforms to the ends and deepen them by 10-15 cm.

If possible, you should pour anchors into the floor and attach the table to them; this option will allow you to disconnect the device if necessary and move it to another location.

How to make a drawing

Manufacturing work you need to start by creating a drawing of the device. Manufacturing at random is not recommended, since it is difficult to remake an assembly connected by welding.

You need to calculate all the dimensions in advance., distance, location of the engine, so that its location is as close as possible to the center of mass of the table. If the eccentric is not located on the motor shaft, but on a separate drive, then it is placed in the center. Creating a drawing must begin from the bed.

The height and type of fastening to the floor are taken into account, the perimeter of the frame frame in plan follows the contours of the working surface. This is necessary since the springs are located at the corners and at the central points of the sides of the table.

How to choose the right engine

The table area is selected based on the engine power, which should not be too large. Typically, a power of up to 1 kW is sufficient.. A table measuring 1500 by 800 mm is suitable for such an engine.

The dimensions are approximate, since the weight of the table and the speed of the motor shaft are not taken into account. In general, you need to worry not so much about the power as about the condition of the bearings or bushings.

They bear the entire load, and to ensure long-term operation, you must choose a motor with reliable bearings. If necessary, if the design allows it, the engine can be modified, removing the bushings and replacing them with reinforced bearings.

If you plan to install an eccentric directly on the motor shaft, this procedure will greatly extend the performance of the motor.

Manufacturing instructions

At this point, the process of assembling a homemade vibrating table for paving slabs can be considered complete; all that remains is to start the device and adjust the amplitude of vibrations by changing the position of the eccentric.

Important nuances, error prevention

  • A edge is needed around the perimeter of the working surface of the table to prevent the form with concrete from sliding off.
  • If you use long bolts as guide rods for the springs, you can slightly tension the springs by screwing in nuts and washers to more securely fix the table and limit the amplitude of vibration.
  • Instead of a conventional electric motor, you can use a vibrator like IV99 or similar, with which you can more accurately regulate the vibrations and obtain a high-quality result.

Security measures

All work should be carried out in a room designed for such activities. Welding work, as a fire hazard, must be carried out with fire extinguishing equipment.

Cutting, drilling and other work with metal is carried out in compliance with safety regulations. Attention should be paid to working with an angle grinder.

It is better to make the first start with the drive belt removed. to eliminate the consequences of incorrect connection or fastening of components.

Don't forget about protective grounding, which must be connected before the test run.

In this video, watch how you can make a vibrating table for the production of paving slabs with your own hands:

The process of assembling a vibrating table does not take much time; usually its installation is completed in one day.

Setting the mode can be done almost instantly, or it can take some time, since the most optimal option is found through experience.

A unit made in this way can serve for a long time and can be used both for the production of paving slabs and for other work with concrete, ceramics or other compounds that require vibration processing.

To make quality paving slabs or sections of a concrete fence with your own hands, you need a vibrating table, which you can purchase or you can make yourself. It is easy to make and economically feasible. Most of the materials for it are available in any workshop or garage.

Studying the prices for paving slabs and concrete fences, many decide to make them themselves. Firstly, it is profitable, and secondly, you can make good money on subsequent production, especially if you live in an area with a lot of new buildings and empty lots. To implement the idea, just select the shapes and make a vibrating table.

Nuances when preparing for work

Despite the fact that all methods for making a vibrating table are largely similar, there are nuances that need to be clarified at the stage of creating the drawing. So that you don’t have to redo everything after launching, let’s look at the main ones.

Selecting the engine

A special vibration motor can be purchased at the store, but it is not cheap. Most people prefer to purchase washing machine motors from friends or find a suitable option in the garage. In general, you can rely on the following indicators: for large tables weighing 200-250 kg and a tabletop length from a meter to two - a motor from 0.75 to 1.1 kW. For small vibrating tables up to two hundred kilograms and a size of 1x1 meter or less - a power of 0.23 kW.

Do not forget that low-power motors are not intended for mass production and can withstand about 30 cycles, after which the bearings will have to be changed, and the axle may also become loose.

What material to choose for the countertop

Metal is most often used, since it is easier to clean the solution, but in our example we will show the option with an OSB board. The material was not chosen by chance; the main goal was to lighten the structure. The plate does not carry a structural load, but only serves to protect the engine and vibration mechanism from the solution getting on them, so there is no need to make it out of metal.

When choosing a metal, pay attention not only to the dimensions, but also to the weight of the slab. If the engine is powerful and the tabletop is made of thin metal, it can be torn off or bent. If you choose thick metal and a motor from a washing machine, its power will not be enough to create the desired vibration.

Base shape

Factory tables are supported on four legs, our example will show an H-shaped base. In terms of strength and stability, it is not inferior to the classic form, but in this way it was possible to achieve a convenient approach from any point. When dragging mortar or tiles, a person does not cling to the partitions, and manufacturing costs are significantly reduced. With the classic version, you have to weld not only the frame, but also strengthen it with cross-shaped planks.

To make sections of fences, you will have to make an oblong vibrating table, a little more than two meters long, and for tiles a small one, up to 50x50 cm, will be suitable. Everyone selects the height according to their height.

Springs or rubber cushions

Rubber pads or springs are used to make a vibrating table. If the table is made for yourself and runs on a low-power motor, you can install rubber cushions. Large tiles or fences require springs.

When there is strong vibration, the plate collides with hard rubber. These impacts will eventually destroy not only the cushion, but also the tabletop itself. In addition, the impacts are transferred to the frame and if you do not weld the platform legs, they will break the floor or enter the ground unevenly.

You can get springs for free by asking your friends. Others simply buy springs from a moped or car on the market and cut them in half. They should be from 8 to 12 cm in height. Soft springs create less noise, but can be strongly compressed. Considering that they are selected empirically, it is better not to take risks.

To check whether the springs are suitable or not, in the assembled state, load the platform with a weight twice the planned load. In this state, the tabletop should not come into contact with the glass under the springs.

Two motors or one with eccentric regulation

There is a situation when a person found two old motors from washing machines and decided to install them on a vibration table. Such engines will work normally provided that they are absolutely identical. Otherwise, different frequencies will lead to “boiling” of the concrete.

Some deliberately take this step, planning to regulate the strength of vibration by turning on one or two motors at the same time. It is better to purchase one powerful one and adjust the force with eccentrics, this will reduce the percentage of defects.

Tools and materials for making a vibrating table

Since the vibration mode is very aggressive, the material for the future table must be chosen with a margin of safety.

To make a vibrating table you will need:

  • 12 meters of profile pipe measuring 100x80 mm;
  • a quarter square meter of metal sheet 12 mm thick;
  • round bars with a diameter of 40 mm and a length of 400 mm;
  • round bars with a diameter of 100 mm and a length of 150 mm;
  • four bolts 20x100;
  • metal screws;
  • engine 2800 rpm 1 kW;
  • machine;
  • cable.

Necessary tools for work:

  • Bulgarian;
  • a set of locksmith tools;
  • square;
  • ruler;
  • electrodes;
  • cutting wheels.

Step-by-step instructions for assembling a vibrating table

For the base, we cut six pieces from a 100x80 pipe, 600 mm long, and one two-meter piece. For the upper movable plate, we cut four pieces from a 100x80 profile pipe with a length of 440 mm and two pieces of 2200 mm. From a sheet 12 mm thick, cut a rectangular piece measuring 600 by 400 mm.

Now let's start assembling. Let's start with the base, which consists of two H-shaped supports, placed on their sides and rigidly connected to each other by a crossbar by welding, from pipe sections 600 mm long.

20x100 screws are installed on the lower horizontal of the supports to adjust the table level. On the top ones, 6 pieces of pipe are welded, 1 cm high and with a diameter suitable for the springs.

Springs from engine valves of a ZIL car or any other heavy-duty vehicle are well suited for this. Three pieces of tubes are welded onto each support. The tubes act as cups for the springs.

The top plate of the vibrating table is a rigidly welded rectangular frame, along the edges of which sections of profile pipe 2200 mm long are connected to each other by parts of 440 mm pipes, at equal distances from each other.

A 12 mm sheet measuring 600x400 mm is welded to the frame in the middle, onto which the vibration motor is attached. The same sockets for springs are welded along the edges of the frame as on its lower part. The sockets on both sides must be placed strictly opposite each other so that the springs inserted into them stand vertically.

The peculiarity of this table is that vibration occurs in a horizontal plane, eliminating boiling of the mixture. That is why the vibration mechanism must be made independently, rather than installing a factory one, which has vertical vibration.

The vibrator mechanism itself consists of a bearing cage and a hollow cylinder. Bearings are installed at both ends, and the cylinder itself is welded to a plate on the upper half of the vibrating table.

1 - cylinder; 2 — races for bearings; 3 - bearings; 4 - shaft; 5 — eccentrics; 6 - pulley; 7 - nut

A shaft is pressed into the bearings, onto which a pulley is placed, and two eccentrics are installed on it, which are attached to the pulley with six bolts. Since the bolts are located in a circle at the same distance, this makes it possible to rotate the eccentrics in relation to each other, thereby regulating the force of vibration. All this is secured with a nut screwed onto the thread at the top of the shaft.

On the opposite side of the plate, a flange electric motor is mounted using four bolts. A pulley is pressed onto the motor shaft. Rotation from the engine to the vibration mechanism is transmitted via a textrope belt. All this is covered with an OSB board cut to the size of the table.

That's basically it. The table has been tested quite well; over the course of a year, about four hundred tons of concrete were vibrated on it; there were no breakdowns or malfunctions during this time.

Common manufacturing mistakes

Some people do not put springs in glasses, but put them on steel fingers. When vibrating at the moment of pressure, they can move slightly in different directions. This uneven load quickly wears out the springs.

The tabletop is framed around the edges so that the molds do not slide onto the floor, but one corner should be bent for drainage. Then you won’t have to pick out the remaining mortar with a trowel.

To determine where to weld the cups on the frame, you can lubricate the springs with grease and press the frame against them, then marks will remain on its surface.

Take your time and do everything efficiently, then you can sell the equipment and get a lot more money than was invested. Thus, you will not only save on tiles and fences, but also recoup some of the material spent on their manufacture.

To produce various concrete products (blocks, paving slabs, paving stones), in addition to molds, a special vibrating table is required, with the help of which the mixture is compacted, air bubbles are removed, and the structure of the material is improved. Massive industrial equipment is installed in factories. For independent production of concrete products, it is quite possible to make a vibrating table with your own hands.

Operating principle of the vibrating table

A vibrating table is a technical device consisting of:

  • Support stand and frame.
  • The work surface is a steel table top, which is attached to the base using pins or a weld through metal springs.
  • Electromechanical vibration motor.
  • Starting devices.

A vibration table on springs operates according to the following scheme: the base is fixed on the floor, a form filled with concrete mixture is placed on the tabletop, and the vibration motor is started for a certain time. After stopping, the container is removed. The work of a self-made vibrating table is based on the same principle.

Industrial vibrating tables differ in:

1. Dimensions of the working surface. The larger its dimensions, the more complex products can be produced.

2. Power. The performance of the installation depends on this parameter. As a rule, the accompanying documentation indicates the approximate service weight. Thus, a 3,000 W design is able to work with forms filled with concrete mixture with a total weight of up to 300 kg. This is about 4 square meters of paving slabs 30 x 30 cm in one go.

3. Amplitudes. Almost all units are equipped with a vibration frequency control function, which is very convenient when switching from one type of product to another.

In addition to paving stones for paving roads, vibrating tables are used for the production of artificial stone, fence panels, blocks, decorative figured products (statues, bas-reliefs), etc. The price of industrial devices starts from 30,000 rubles. Used units with a good service life are 30-60% cheaper.

There are two main subtypes of vibrating tables:

  • Molding, intended for the production of a concrete element.
  • Unmolding, necessary for removing the finished tile. This design is equipped with special frames that help remove products from the mold. A nozzle with holes that follow the contours of the product being removed is placed on the work table. Due to vibration, it is easily separated from the container and falls into the operator’s hands or onto the conveyor belt.

Self-made paving slabs are usually easy to remove, so only a forming vibrating table is required.

Assembling the table yourself

The design is quite simple, but the difficulty lies in selecting the optimal vibration amplitude. It is important to achieve not only ideal speed, but also uniformity of movement, since otherwise the concrete mixture will not be compacted, but rather, oversaturated with air. This is the so-called boiling process.

To make a homemade vibration table at home, you will need the following materials and tools:

1. Metal sheet with a thickness of 6 mm and above for a worktop.

2. Springs and “cups” under them are made of steel.

3. Steel angle and/or pipes for the frame, supports, as well as plates for attaching the frame to the base using anchors.

4. Electric motor. It can be purchased separately or made independently. To make a small volume of paving slabs with your own hands, it is enough to buy a single-phase vibration motor with a power of no more than 700 W.

5. Welding machine.

6. Electric drill.

7. Grinder with metal discs.

8. Hardware for the engine and fastening the vibrating table to the floor. The kit must include lock nuts, cotter pins and other fasteners, since any threaded connections quickly loosen under the influence of vibration.

To adjust the speed of movement, you can purchase and install an electronic AC potentiometer together with the vibration motor. The sophisticated mechanism of the vibrating table will allow you to deal with different types of mixtures.

Before you start work, you need to make a drawing of the vibrating table, mark the fixing points of the electric motor on it, determine the dimensions of the installation and components. Thus, the optimal height for the structure is considered to be 80 cm. The width and length are calculated based on the size of the forms. An approximate diagram of a vibrating table for paving slabs is presented below.

Having prepared everything you need, you can start making a vibrating table:

1. Installation of the base.

Four equal sections of an angle, pipe or steel profile are welded into a frame, to which the legs with anchoring plates attached to them must be welded. If this is not done, then the vibrating table will simply “walk” during operation. It is advisable to enhance the stability of the structure with an additional axis made of metal tubes (along the perimeter or crosswise). “Glass” should be welded to the frame on the reverse side - sections of pipes up to 7 cm high, the diameter of which is 2-3 mm larger than the cross-section of the spring. Their position must be clearly adjusted, without distortions or displacements, since the efficiency of the installation depends on this. If there are no “cups”, then the springs are welded to the frame.

2. Making a vibrating table top.

When the monolithic steel sheet is thin, it is strengthened by welding the transverse corners. Sections of channel bars with holes are attached to the main working surface by welding, onto which the vibration electric motor will then be attached. Additionally, along the perimeter of the tabletop, edges made of steel angles with dimensions of at least 50x50 mm are mounted.

3. Assembling the vibrating table.

The engine is fixed to the channel frame, then the support stand and the table itself are connected - in the area where the spring blocks fit, you need to make a weld. The finished vibrating table is fixed with anchor grips and tested for performance. If necessary, the vibration amplitude is corrected (using an eccentric mounted on the shaft of an industrial vibration motor), spring stiffness and stability in general.

Vibrating tables made at home are not characterized by high productivity and safety margins. However, this is quite enough to meet your own needs for a summer house or home. And the cost of such a design is 5-12 times cheaper than an industrial installation.

The production of high-quality paving slabs is impossible without a vibrating table. Large enterprises purchase industrial models, but to organize a small business or to manufacture products for personal use on your own site, you can make a vibrating table with your own hands.

The vibrating table consists of:

  • Frame and support post.
  • Table top attached to the frame via springs.
  • Motor.
  • Starting device.

Vibrating table manufacturing process

First of all, a suitable motor is selected. You can use a motor from a washing machine or another 220 V asynchronous motor. Its main feature a unit (eccentric) fixed to the shaft, rotating with an offset relative to the center of mass. Due to the displacement, the vibration necessary for compaction is ensured.

An ordinary motor is converted into a vibration motor by attaching a metal washer (eccentric) to the motor shaft. A hole is made in it and a thread is cut to 8. A bolt is screwed into the thread and fixed in the washer using a control nut. The vibration level is adjusted by screwing/unscrewing the bolt.

If you don’t have a suitable motor at hand or an exact understanding of what it should be, you can buy it in a store. One of the suitable options is the IV-99 E 220 V vibrator. It will cost about 6 thousand rubles.

To control the amplitude of the supplied vibrations, an additional AC potentiometer is installed. The vibration force is controlled by changing the level of voltage supplied to the motor. This will allow you to adjust the operation of the vibrating table in accordance with the type of mixture and the size of the molds.

Before starting to manufacture the installation, you need to find drawings or draw it yourself. The detailed drawing will be discussed a little further. The work must be completed in full accordance with it.

To make a vibration table with your own hands, you need to prepare the following materials:

  • Sheet of metal (future working surface).
  • Vibrator for vibrating table.
  • Metal plates.
  • Springs.
  • Metal corner.
  • Metal pipes.
  • Welding machine.
  • Bolts for securing the engine.
  • Drill.
  • Bulgarian.
  • Metal washer.

The main points of making a vibrating table:

  1. Choice of base material. A corner or channel is suitable. The dimensions of the base depend on individual needs. Standard size: 70x70 cm. When planning the working space, you must also take into account the engine power.
  2. Making supports. Metal pipes can be used as supports. They are attached to the base by welding. Metal plates are welded to the legs. If the table is located in one place, the plates are filled with solution, ensuring maximum fixation of the vibrating table on the floor surface. If movement is necessary, the plates can be attached to the floor with bolts or in another way. The height of the table should ensure maximum comfort during operation and the motor should not be placed directly above the ground (it is better to raise it slightly).
  3. Selection of springs. They are needed to ensure vibration of the working surface. Springs from a car or moped, cut in half, will do. The springs should have a wide coil - this will ensure the maximum level of vibration. They are attached to the base and tabletop by welding.

To simplify the replacement of broken springs, they do not need to be welded. A pipe with a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the springs is selected and small pieces of it are welded to the base. Springs are put on these pieces (possibly inserted), providing fixation and the ability to remove the tabletop from the base.

  1. Engine installation. To install the engine, weld a square to the base across the vibrating table. The main requirement when installing a vibrator is maximum fixation. If you neglect this rule, the engine will be subject to vibration, which will negatively affect its service life.
  2. Making a table top. The size of the work surface is determined solely by individual needs or the availability of suitable material: sheet metal with a thickness of 8 mm or more. If you use a surface of less thickness, it will deform during operation. Sides are welded along the edges of the tabletop to prevent the forms with the solution from moving from the work surface and falling to the floor.

Vibrating table on a car tire

To do this you need:

  • Tire from a passenger car.
  • Motor.
  • Work surface (plywood, chipboard or other flat base).

Manufacturing process:

  1. The motor is attached to the working surface from below. The main thing is to fix it securely.
  2. The tire is attached so that the motor is exactly in the middle of it.

You can install the resulting vibrating table of a simple design on an ordinary wooden table or by building something like a tower by laying several tires on top of each other. The use of tires of different sizes can increase the stability of the structure.

You can see the process of making a vibrating table on car tires in the video:

What should you pay special attention to?

A vibrating table for paving slabs should be made taking into account the following points:

  • The motor must be securely fixed in the place indicated in the drawing so that vibrations are distributed evenly over the entire surface of the tabletop. To do this, its axis must be as close as possible to the center of gravity of the working surface. If there are 2 vibration motors, it is better to move them to the edges: it is difficult to find the center of gravity and such placement will help eliminate inaccuracies.
  • The supports must be positioned in such a way that their center, when compressed, is at the same level as the vibrator axis. This promotes uniform distribution of vibrations over the working surface.
  • If bolts are used during installation, choose ones with fine threads (less exposed to vibrations).
  • When creating the frame of the work surface, it is better to use square pipes rather than corners - this will allow you to achieve maximum rigidity of the table top.

Particular attention should be paid to calculating the level of vibrations supplied by the motor to the working surface. If this is not done and the electric motor is installed without making calculations, there is a chance that the mixture in the molds, due to insufficient impact, will be poorly compacted, and the quality of the manufactured tiles will decrease. If there is excessive vibration, the solution will “boil”, rendering the product unusable. To find out the required motor power, you first need to calculate the forced (disturbed) force. For these purposes the following formulas are used:

  1. Sun = K (Mt + 0.2 M + 0.2 V)
  2. Sun = K (Mt + M + 0.2 V)
  • Sun – forcing force, N.
  • Mt – weight of the vibrating part of the table, including the motor, kg.
  • M – mold weight, kg.
  • B – weight of the solution in molds, kg.
  • K is a coefficient depending on the solution and the rigidity of the molds (on average 20-40).

The first formula is applicable in the case of loose forms on the working surface, the second - in the case of fixed ones.

Sun = M x P x B2

  • M – weight of the weight in kg,
  • R – radius to its center of gravity in meters,
  • B2 – square of angular frequency = 3.14n/30, where n is the number of revolutions in 60 seconds.

To obtain the required power in kN, you need to divide Bs by 1000.

Video of the work process of a homemade vibrating table

The vibrating table has a simple design, which allows you to make it yourself from scrap materials, giving you the opportunity to produce paving slabs at home, spending a minimum amount of money. To ensure maximum performance, it is worth considering all the recommendations given in this article during manufacturing.
